He had just flipped open the classic "Windows for starters" when he blindly (you have to give him some credit for his corneal irregularity)Â ran into the love of his life. I had almost finished "Graduation for dummies", our eyes met, the books fell to the floor... And you know how that story develops...
Well, that is not quite what happened. It was carnival, the library was the Ägidiusheim, we were both drunk and we rather tumbled than "ran" into each others arms, but we did really find it, the love of our lives - without masquerade and costumes...
I think I am not only talking for myself when I say that anyone wants to find that one person that they can imagine to share the rest or their lives with. The one you can laugh with and be silly, that offers you his shoulder to lean on and holds their hand open to encourage you when times get rough.
Some people find that partner earlier others later. Some never find them at all.
In ethics class we had that picture of man and woman. As they came down to earth as a ball they were parted into two pieces and spread to different parts of the world. That way any human has got a complementary part, we'll just have to find it. I always said such imagination was pretty cheesy and since I am not a friend of those things I never got a kick of that vision.
But I knew I had found my matching part after our first vacation in Macomb, MI USA.
